Client Project

Agency

Super-thinking our way through the challenges we faced has led to numerous insights and innovations; our company culture is rich with ideas, know-how and opportunity. For all those working in Innovation and Technology on complex problems – here is a story how we approached one Client Project.

Our journey began with a program of User Experience design – all of the key concepts and principles that steered our strategy and ethos were founded during those early days. Since then, we’ve worked with some amazing clients and connected with people who have spotted the potential #hexology presents, and it seems we’re all solving similar challenges in different ways.

At #hexology, our focus is always on the User Experience, every breakthrough we’ve had has come out of a Use Case Scenario study where User Centred Design spans the moment a consumer opens the box, walks into a room or launches the app. It’s as if the most valuable skill needed is the ability to build the narrative around your product, service or event, and then look for ways that technology can enrich that experience.

One client in particular came with a blank canvas and said, these are the challenge areas that we are currently working on, how do you think you can help? The following account outlines the sequence of events that followed and outlines the methodology we bring to a client project.

Step 1: It’s all about active listening

Hearing the things that are not said and understanding the problem that the client wants to solve. Defining the problem is the first step and to ensure that we were going down the right path we developed a range of potential solutions to related problems that we felt we could solve. This empowered our client with the ability to direct the programme of work right at the start and it was useful for them too, as it forced them to evaluate and prioritise their own business-logic and criteria.

Step 2: Understanding the value proposition

Having agreed on a specific challenge area we wanted to get under-the-hood and examine the key stakeholders in the User Scenario. In this case we looked at the relationship between the consumer and our client, to draw out the nuances between them. What do they want? What are their risks? What are the benefits? How can we improve that through our technology?

Step 3: Identify the challenge brief

At this stage in the programme, we were looking at a specific problem through a magnifying glass and it was clear that we were broadening our horizons whilst on a path of discovery. Now that we had identified a challenge brief and understood the value our technology could bring we explored the issues raised by modelling the user experiences from every perspective. This exercise expanded the scope of intellectual property around something specific and it went so broad, that the client had the opportunity to pick and choose which parts of the problem solution they liked.

Step 4: focus and refine

The final step in our consultancy package was to focus and refine our findings.. This presentation encompassed strategic thought and projections on how their business case would be improved through the implementation of our recommendations and designs.

So rewarding!

To arrive at a simple solution we stepped back to look at the problem as a whole – before going through the complexity, and out of that we were able to develop a solution together. This programme of work led to a second contract and a technology trial that we delivered successfully. If you are reading this guys, then thank you so much to all those involved!

In a nutshell, the hexology team has been working on this stuff for a while – we’ve gathered a wealth of experience that we’re ready to share.

Aimed at Innovation and Technology teams inside organisations working on complex and specific challenges, #hexology is being built to help unlock the complexity of a specific technical challenge. We’ll help you with the implementation of our technology into your application, which may even include access to bespoke prototypes and creative consultancy with our team.

If you are interested in #hexology, then there is a good probability that we will be able to help through a set of #hex beacons, access to the API and to get us focused on your challenge brief – however complex the client project maybe.
